I Want To Like This: Podcast #47, “War of the Stars” and stuff.

This week Thomas and Jerry took time out of their schedules to watch, the Man Behind the Mask’s fanedit of Star Wars: A New Hope, The War of the Stars: A New Hope Grindhoused . This recut of old vhs footage before the special additions is layered with deleted scenes, new effects made by the editor, and lines of dialog by Mr. Jones from other works all put together with  a bad cinema aesthetic, has a delightful sense of humor that makes an old classic fun and new. But, hear it from the guys themselves on this episode!

I Want To Like This: Podcast #46- Oh, The HORROR! with Alexandra Arns

In modern media sequels and reboots have become a commonality. SO much so, that they are often cited as Hollywood losing creativity. No Genre has ever been more sequalized or rebooted than that of Horror. And to talk about this we welcome Alexandra Arns back to the podcast! Thomas and Alex sit down and talk about whether or not creativity still exists in the genre, how out of touch Alex has become with it due to life, and some of the films that are coming out this year in the genre.

I Want To Like This: Podcast #44, “Mr.Right” with Ian Lee

This week Thomas sat down in the studio with Ian Lee (Previous podcast found here) to watch and talk about the 2015 Max Landis penned film “Mr. Right”. And with a cast starring Anna Kendrick and Sam Rockwell, this filmed failed to disappoint. Seriously though, this Movie has Thomas debating buying a Tropical button up. But, you can hear what Ian and Thomas have to say about it in this episode of the podcast!

I Want To Like This: Podcast #43, “Nerve” and Other Neat Stuff

The movie “Nerve” is a really fun film. SO fun in fact, that Thomas and Jerry could not wait to record this episode of the podcast after watching it. That excitement really comes through as the talk about the 2016 film starring Emma Roberts and Dave Franco.

They also mention Jerry’s soon to be vacation to southern Illinois and the concert Thomas is dying to go to this summer.

I Want To Like This: Podcast #41, “Zombies? Romero or The Walking Dead?” with Alexandra Arns

This podcast is a contrast to last week, with no crunch for time three friends who do not get to catch up all that often got rambly and had fun. The backbone of this conversation though, is that our guest Alexandra Arns wanted to discuss the two biggest Zombie franchizes in the world. This is made fun by her fandom, and Jerry and Thomas’s lack of knowledge. That and aforementioned meandering.

I Want To Like This: Podcast #40, “Pacific Rim” with Nick Sharp

This weekes podcast sees the return of Nick Sharp; comedian, podcaster, and nerd. Nick is here to talk to Thomas about the 2013 masterpiece that is “Pacific Rim”. Which unlike Nick’s experience with the film adaption of “Dragon Ball” (which you can listen to here) he really likes. But what is not to like? Great cast, fun action, Guillermo del Toro’s flare for creative monsters, clever giant robot designs, and like all of Mr. del Toro’s films a nice bit of humor. It is easy to see that while this film is not an academy darling it is easily a lot of fun. And we thank Nick for spare what little time he could to make this abridged episode happen.
